The Mobile Gem Mine began literally out of nowhere! It fell directly into our lap when we were least expecting it! Christy (the primary operator of The Mobile Gem Mine) is a Master Herbalist and had a health center in Clemmons, NC for 7 years. Because she has always had a fascination with gemstones, Christy began to offer a small variety of crystals in her Health Center. These were meant to assist in Natural Healing, and quickly grew into a very large variety in her center. One day while working with clients at the center, a man walked in the door and asked Christy if she would be interested in expanding her gemstone business. He explained that his best friend (the owner of Daniel Boone Enterprises) had passed away and that he had a gemstone mining business that would be auctioned off. Christy reluctantly scheduled an appointment to come see the company and the inventory so she could make a fair offer at the auction. Unfortunately, her offer was denied and she forgot all about the opportunity that was clearly just not meant to be. After a year or so passed, Christy was contacted by one of her friends from high school. This friend turned out to be the daughter of Wade Boone (the previous owner of Daniel Boone Enterprises who had passed away). This friend asked Christy if she had any interest in the Mobile Gemmining business. Christy explained that she was still interested however her offer at the auction had been denied. Christy assumed that someone else had gotten the business and inventory. To her surprise, Christy found out that the auction fell through, the buyer backed out, and that ALL of the inventory AND business contents were still available. They had been sitting in a storage building (unbeknownst to Christy), for the last year! Naturally Christy was excited and believed it to be a divine purpose! She made an appointment to go see the inventory and business contents for the second time and asked her friend what the family was trying to get out of the sale of everything. To her surprise (and true to God’s amazingly perfect planning), Christy was quoted a price that was only one third of what the original, denied, offer! How could she say no to that kind of destiny? She did not say no! Instead, she made many trips and loaded many truck loads full of rocks in order to start where Daniel Boone Enterprises stopped. She made lots of improvements to their business plan, and now we have “The Mobile Gem Mine”! This business took off so quickly that Christy decided to close her brick and mortar store and focus solely on traveling with the new business venture. Because she has three children (her youngest being a son with autism), this decision gave her and her family lots of freedom to do what they love, as well as keep her son the main priority in her life! Because the autism community is so close to her heart, a portion of all proceeds from The Mobile Gem Mine go straight to autism education and fundraising. The way everything has fallen into place with The Mobile Gem Mine, is truly a Cinderella story!
